Grossmans Seafood Inc was given a great blessing Wednesday night (December 10th 2008) to provide the crew of Extreme Makeover Home Edition a real New England Seafood meal. Grossman’s Seafood provided a meal for over 60 people that included Ty Pennington, Rib Hillis, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, producers, and the shows hard working crew which was very exciting for all of us. After meeting Yolanda who is the Extreme Makeovers chef, our General Manager Sean Coleman realized that this would be a great opportunity to get involved. Grossmans seafood provided a meal to the cast and crew that included Local lobsters with drawn butter, king crab legs, shrimp cocktail, and every ones favorite New England clam chowder. In addition to the seafood, for those non seafood lovers, Illianos in Yantic Ct. donated home made spaghetti and meatballs. Providing the cast and crew with a traditional New England meal was both a pleasure and an honor. Being able to interact with all those involved in this wonderful project was a humbling experience, and to see they truly believe in what they do, with it not being just television a show was inspiring. The volunteers from Grossmans Seafood included General Manager Sean Coleman, Operations Manager Christian Porter, Retail Manager Mary Porter and daughter Tiffany, Office Manager Ann Ketelhut and her son John. Special thanks should be given to the Voluntown Fire Department. Not only did they go above and beyond in helping us with our preparations, they kept everything that was going on organized and safe for everyone, all with a smile despite the long hours they dedicated to this project.
